Are you looking for ways to personalize your elopement & make it totally feel like YOU? The beauty of elopements is that you’re free to incorporate any sort of activities that would make it the best day ever for the two of you! Today I’ve got 15 super fun, unique elopement ideas & activities for you to include in your Washington elopement.
These activities range from things you can do with your guests to activities to do just the two of you, and should get your creativity flowing! Figure out which of these activities sounds amazing to you, and which ones you might want to avoid – that way, your day is curated to be 100% uniquely, authentically you.
This is always a fun one – and a simple one, too! Pick out your fave bevies that you want to drink on your elopement day, and find a way to customize them.
You can get a custom label with your names/elopement date/location/etc. printed on a keepsake bottle, buy drinks from your local brewery that you love to eat at, drink the wine your parents drank at their wedding, whatever could help you make your drinks special.
Caitlin and Max drank airplane shots of whiskey from the distillery they went to on their first date – such a cute and fun way to incorporate a special part of their love story! And more unique than just taking regular ol’ shots – although by all means, take as many regular ol’ shots as you want to.
What better way to relax & enjoy the outdoors together than soaking in a hot spring?
The Goldmyer Hot Springs sits in the foothills of the Cascades, about 25 miles from North Bend. It’s a great option for hikers, as you’ll take a 4.5-mile trail to get to the hot springs. Then, it’s time to relax, recharge, and take in the beauty surrounding you!
Blue Sky is a Washington company that offers super fun river rafting trips down the Wenatchee River, near Leavenworth. This is such an awesome activity for any couples looking for something adventurous to do on their elopement day, guided by professionals and providing gorgeous views. It’s a Class 3 river, which means almost any age and ability will be able to take this tour!
This is a great idea if you’re opting not to invite guests to your elopement, or maybe something is preventing your loved ones from being able to attend (hey COVID). Have your closest friends & family members write you letters before your elopement day, and read them when the day comes. Do this during your ceremony, while you get ready, while you eat dinner, whenever would feel most special to you!
If you want to take it a step further, have them record video messages, and download them to play on your phone sometime during the day. This way you can see your loved ones during your elopement and feel their love & congratulations, even if they aren’t physically present!
It wouldn’t be a true adventure if there wasn’t a campfire to be gathered around at the end of the day, right? Whether you invite guests to your ceremony & adventure or not, invite those closest to you to celebrate with s’mores, refreshments, and celebrations of you two!
If you’re looking for a unique place to stay and want to be surrounded by nature, look no further than Treehouse Point! This beautiful spot in the forest is located just 30 minutes from Seattle and offers super unique accommodations. What more could you want than to be able to sleep in a fancy house literally nestled up in the trees??
And you can even hold your elopement or wedding here – so if you wanna knock out two birds with one stone (a place to elope AND sleep), this is the perfect option for you!
Going on a hot air balloon ride would be the ultimate elopement adventure! Do some research on some of the local hot air balloon companies and look for the ones with views you’d be stoked on!
One of the reasons Mount Rainier is so popular is because of the stunning wildflowers it boasts in the spring & summer. If you want to feel like you’re living a real-life fairytale in the mountains, go on a wildflower-viewing adventure in the park!
The best time to see Rainier’s wildflowers is between late July & early August, and Visit Rainier has great tips on how to admire & identify the wildflowers. Be sure to do your part to Leave No Trace and avoid trampling on/destroying the precious wildflowers you came to witness!

If you’d rather float down the river in a tube than get the thrill of white water rafting, Blue Sky offers that too! Book a tubing tour in Leavenworth to enjoy a relaxing float down the Wenatchee River with your friends & fam.
Want to see some of the best views of Washington from above? Book a scenic seaplane tour! Get the best views of Seattle, and then you can even fly into Olympic National Park or Ross Lake in North Cascades National Park and get married in the mountains after! Or you could take it to one of the San Juan Islands – just a few of my favorite places in Washington.
Leavenworth is a little Bavarian town in the mountains and a super fun place to explore. It’s got all kinds of outdoor activities & opportunities, unique local shops, comfy places to stay, and yummy restaurants & breweries! Walking around the town is a fun way to experience this unique part of Washington, plus you have access to a ton of gorgeous places nearby.
One of the most beautiful places in the North Cascades is Diablo Lake, a bright blue lake nestled in the mountains. You can camp near the bottom of the lake and then explore the nearby area through hikes – it’s an amazing place for outdoor lovers!
The PNW is filled with cozy af A-frame cabins, tucked away in the middle of forests. If you want to stay somewhere in the middle of nature but you’d rather sleep in a beautiful cabin than in a tent, check out these two adorable A-frame cabins below:
Both cabins have gorgeous hot tubs and plenty of luxury amenities!

Did you know there are companies that make compactable rafts, kayaks or SUPs? They are perfect for hiking into high alpine lakes for a dreamy paddle and private moment for the two of you. Check out Oru Kayak or Kokopelli Packraft for some highly recommended options!
If you’re a rock climbing buff (like I am slowly but surely becoming), why not make it apart of your wedding day?! I’d be beyond stoked to get in the harness alongside you and get some badass photos of you two doing what you love most on your elopement day.
There you have it – 15 fun, unique ideas to incorporate into your elopement! Washington has no shortage of amazing opportunities, so this list doesn’t even begin to cover it all. But I highly recommend picking out activities that are going to make your day unforgettable + feel like you!
