Hi! I’m Emma.
I’m a Joshua Tree elopement photographer. I’m inspired by all things wild, the vastness of earths many landscapes, and the art of capturing love in motion.
It would be an honor to document your intimate celebration in one of the most unique and awe-inspiring destinations — Joshua Tree National Park.
I frequent the Joshua Tree area heavily in February, March, April, and November. These are also great times of the year to elope in Joshua Tree because the weather won’t be *too* hot like it is in the summer.
Reach out and let’s get planning your Joshua Tree elopement!
My goodness, is this an overdue post. It’s been just over a year since this Joshua Tree elopement photographer workshop I attended, and I’m in awe of how transformational that experience was. To this day, I still keep up with everyone. And Ashley and Caroline featured here? They moved to Seattle and now we spend our Sundays bouldering and brunching together.
There was something in that Mojave Desert air that brought all the creatives and vendors together in a way that bonded us, and I am so grateful. All the planning, nurturing, and intention behind it goes to our gal, Marci, at marcellalaine.com.
For this Airbnb, Joshua Tree elopement, we embarked on two different journeys. The first part of our day, dedicated to lounging around the most luxurious home, getting ready together, and sharing their letters to one another in the backyard. Petals by Piper created the most ethereal body-floral pieces for Ashley and Caroline, and my good friend Amanda (who flew down from Seattle for this), did their hair and makeup – which even withstood the desert heat!
After downing some celebratory shots post-ceremony, Ashley, Caroline, my friend Kelly and I hopped into our suped up truck for the weekend and headed into Joshua Tree National Park. We spent the evening roaming around the Jumbo Rocks, playing with the shadows and highlights of the desert, and watching the most glorious sunset – fading into hues of pinks and purples before settling into blue hour.
Getting to experience Joshua Tree as an elopement photographer was beyond what I could have hoped for. I now crave the desert more than I ever thought possible for this true PNW gal. Plus, I have family just a short drive away from the park, so I plan on making Joshua Tree trips for my elopement travel schedule at least yearly.
I wish I could fully put into words just how dear this experience, these humans, and this desert all are to me now. But alas, hopefully these photos do a little justice.
