This day was one of those days that really makes you think, “Wow, I love this freaking job.” When I first met up with Zack and Julianne over beers a few weeks prior to their Seattle courthouse elopement, we all could tell that if they weren’t moving to the UK right after their big day, we would’ve become friends that hang out on the reg! Luckily they told me the next time I’m in London I have a place to stay.

For these two, it was all about making their day unique to them. They actually didn’t care to have me photograph the ceremony in the courthouse, so we spent our time together traipsing around the drizzly city. We started off at The Grand Sheraton for their first look, and family photos with their closest people. Then we continued through Pioneer Square taking photos in all the perfect nooks and crannies, and landed in the sports bar, Quality Athletics, that started their love story (they met in college in Arizona, but both ended up in Seattle and re-meeting at this bar one night!). Shots were downed, giggles overflowed, and onward we went.

We ended the afternoon on the rooftop on the incredible Seattle Municipal Court (ceremonies often happen out there!) for a few more shots of the couple where they would soon be married. The view overlooks the some of the Seattle sports stadiums and the puget sound – the fog and continuous slight drizzle made for the perfect quintessential Seattle courthouse elopement. Zack and Julianne, I am so stoked that I got to capture this day for you and love seeing your story unfold across the pond! This job truly brings me on the best adventures, to the coolest people, and endless opportunities. I can’t wait for all the beautiful, individual stories I will get to document in the upcoming year.
